godzilla
No, it's very expensive.
scoobydo
No, it's very expensive. Disagree, its worth what someone is prepared to pay. Buy a typical nail and try and restore to that condition for

woody
It's really hard to put a price on a decent twinshock these days, unless it's a Honda TLR250 or Majesty. If that SWM has really done as little as it says and it needs next to nothing spending on it, then it should provide someone trouble free trials riding for years to come with minimum outlay, especially as it is unlikely to be used week in week out. Tatty Hondas fetch that much and people pay it without blinking. The SWM is a better bike. New Majesties were on sale at the classic show this weekend for
lee harris
As Woody said, hard to put a price on it. and as said above also, it will sell for what a buyer wants to pay. i heard that a majesty sold for 7500 pounds atb Alans Show, amazing! Orginal unmolested bikes are great but the crank seals are original also...30 years old. How rusty are the spoke nipples? barb rubbers etc etc. I have rebuilt quite a few twin shock bikes and to do it proprly, powder coated hubs new spokes new gearbox bearings and seals, you will have to spend that kind of money, maybe even more with bling. IMO it isd better to buy a good base bike and restore and rebuilt to new. 2,8K is a lot for a base bike.

b40rt
I think the consensus is that it must be worth 2 - 2.5K, and as said, would probably be the cheep way to a bike of this (apparent) standard. If the sump guard is anything to go by it hasn't had a lot of use. Trouble is it's almost to good to use !
bilc0
Price the bike up as spares. About
andy m
Trouble is if it is used for a year it then becomes another used SWM but probably has lots of trouble free years, if it is purchased and used as an ornament then it is a waste of time. Interesting to see what the 7.5k Majesty and the 10k James are worth in reality after a few trials. There is no logic at what some people will shell out it seems, they either buy a bag of nails and don't do their home work regarding restoration costs or pay big money for show pieces. We went on Sunday so missed all the rarities ??
rosey
Ugh Marzocchi forks yuk. It might be dear, but compared to the absolute junk bikes fetching 600 plus then maybe it's not...
daved444
The whole what's it worth question is a good one, like Woody says it really comes down to what someone is willing to pay. I personally wouldn't pay Edited February 15, 2011 by DaveD444
b40rt
the galvanised spokes would possibly need changing for stainless A very respected wheel builder up here(who has a successful engineering company)never builds trials wheels with stainless spokes, galvanised has some elasticity. t-shock 250
Yeah, but stainless spokes never give any trouble in a trials wheel unless you're a bit of a ham fisted numpty. Loads of people use them no probs, it's a bit like the old "don't use fairy liquid to wash your bike 'coz it will rust" In reality this never happens.
