trialsrfun
Is the frame std Bultaco modified or a specially built one, does anyone know???
sparks2
Head and barrel look like M49 or M80 250cc But could be VERY early 325cc Frame looks like late Miller (modified). Regards Sparks

big john
Damn it, I was speaking to Jon May at the show and didn't realise it was his bike until much later, I could have asked him all about it! I reckon its probably an early motor in a modified later frame, rear shock mount was like Vesty's later bikes, which were modified by Reg May anyway! Never mind... I know a man that will tell me all about it! Big John
pedronicman
ok then , this is what I do know- it was built by Reg and heavily modified i'm sure it is a 250cc. the rear of the frame is as big john said a similar type to the bikes he built to the ones like Vesty's comerfords 340's etc this bike was just one that he built and as far as I know John has always owned it. Other than that only John really knows. Its not a championship winning bike or anything like that it's just one that Reg 'built'. I have known John personally for many many years and Reg was a good friend of my late father. old trials fanatic
OK nice bike. OK has history but when i heard how "special" it was i was dissapointed by the photos. Expected something much more trick. Nice std looking bike but not what i was expecting. Then again i do look at things a bit differently. mrb505
I'd been guessing M91 because of the tapered forks which could even be earlier with modified later axle set up. But just a wild guess a hybrid between a M91 and a M198/199 with heavily modified frame Whatever its a VERY NICE BIKE PS Was there ever a round barrel 325 Sherpa? toofasttim
Ta muchly. Curious. Pre-74 head and barrel (motor) in what appears to be a chrome-plated 199A frame with a 199 tank and a Bing carbie Edited February 18, 2011 by TooFastTim

toofasttim
with modified later axle set up. My dad came up with that idea (or so he said).

woody
Oh Christ, that's one of the funniest replies I've seen to any post for a long time
woody
Headstock looks all wrong for a later Bult frame (or any other) and swingarm looks early model. Could be a later Miller frame or Bult frame from around '76 looking at the frame around the swingarm pivot. Swingarm pivot is moved forward. Slide through lever to the kickstart as well instead of the swivel. They were trick in the day. I had one of those on my first Sherpa, a model 80, except the sliding bar was missing. I had to kick it on just the arm instead.
pschrauber
Cool hybrid, but in my very personal taste I would like to see the glassfibre tank seat combo on this bike with the out of the middle gas filler stub. But this is only my personal view.
