Hi, I,m building a pre 65 bantam D7. Not having touched a 2 stroke for about 30 years I dont know what i,m doing. however memory says that back in the 60s I saw an article by George Todd in which he suggested 1/16 off the top of the exhaust port, 1/8 off the rear of the piston skirt and an increase in compression would would provide more get up & go. In this new age can anyone tell me if this is indeed the way to go. any advice would be much appreciated. THANKS.

I too am in the process of gathering together parts to build a Bantam although it is a later D14. I doubt many of the Bantams in this years Scottish are D7s, more likely 14s. Everyone advises me to stick with 14 parts due to 4 speed box and apparently higher revving etc. Rex Caunt is your man to speak to re tuning them, he supplies pistons ignitions etc and a better cyl head etc.....

You could also try Jim Pickering who specialises in Bantam Trials stuff.

What have you guys got against Jim Pickering because the above post received a negative review ? Most people i have spoken to have thought his products are good value for money. I wasnt aware that Jim Pickering had done anything wrong ?

Andy, get ride of the review feature, it allows w*nkers to pass judgement without the guts to put their name to it.
