alvin123
Just fitted a new rear shock to my gas gas 200. I need to raise the ride height, do I wind the spring lock nuts up to show more thread below the spring or lower the nuts. Currently the swing ARM is very close to horizontal. Thanks
richt
You need to wind the locknuts clockwise to show more thread and this will compress the spring, Sounds like you may have to do a couple of full turns, then see how much it has lifted the bike. Hope this helps.
gronno
I keep meaning to have a look at this on mine. How much laden sag should I be aiming for when measured at the axle?

I reckon the general rule is about 1/3 of the available suspension travel, This could vary between different bike manufactures. But personal preference is also a rule. copemech
Getting the bike to settle a bit under it's own weight(static sag)of about 20mm would be a good start. Yoiu can easily judge this by motion of lifting the mudguard a bit with the bike standing verticle.
