stephen1967
I have a Beta Rev3 250.The exhaust is a bit loud and i have been advised to have it re-packed. I have taken the rear silencer off and also the black part that fits over the end of the exhaust. I can see all the packing inside, but want to know if I take it out will the baffles then come out.I have heard that you are supposed to soak the exhaust in petrol to get all the crap off. Is that all the rear silencer or just the baffles, ?. Good advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
rev3
Pull the baffle out and scrape off the old packing then clean it with a wire brush. I re packed mine using sheets of material designed for the job, to be honest it is easier to buy it pre formed and just slide it back in. If you do go for the materials to do it yourself just make sure you don't pack it too tight as it will sound worse. stephen1967
I have re-packed the exhaust today, started bike up and it didn`t sound much different.I did notice on the exhust near to the air box there are two rubber seals and one of them is split.Would this make the bike sound louder ?.
