monty_jon
Has anyone had difficulty removing the clutch-retaining bolt from a TXT Pro? The hex on the bolt is very shallow!
lineaway
just once, drill it out remove basket and you should be able to remove what is left easily. It is a hollow bolt, just use a drill bit to back it out.
jse
Has anyone had difficulty removing the clutch-retaining bolt from a TXT Pro? The hex on the bolt is very shallow! You have to use a new or dressed Allen (5mm off the end) wrench. A much used, old Allen will strip it out (and other capscrews also). Be sure to replace it with the same type bolt as the hollow portion acts as a breather passageway for the transmission and the short head allows clearance for the end of the servo cylinder ("top hat"). Some riders leave out the capscrew and stepped washer but I like to keep it in as I think it contributes to clutch basket/hub stability. monty_jon
Yep, I had to drill it out! I used plenty of grease on the drill bit to catch the swarf £5.75 for a new one Edited April 19, 2011 by Monty_Jon
