pat
Hi, TY175 pipe/frame questions..which might need to be explained by pics.. Will kindly ask about the measurement at pipe 180dg bend, centre of pipe at exhaust port to LH side of pipe wall after the bend, is it ruffly 70mm (room for RH down tube)? TY175 down tubes at position height ~centre of cylinder exhaust port, is the width from LH side to RH side of down tubes ~140mm? Im using a Cota242 frame and trying to avoid one off pipe.. andy.t
Pat, the TY175 exhaust pipe on the TY175 frame is a very exact fit and sometimes it can be a bit of a struggle to get it on, I would be amazed if you could get it to fit another frame without any mods. You could stand a better chance with the chrome front pipe and the mid section, but as you probably know the original is a one piece(front pipe and mid section).I think it would be very hard to give any measurements that would be worthwhile. Sorry if this is not of any use to you.
pat
Thanks alot Andy, Ok, its that tight fitting std. Have looked at some options and accept offcourse one cut/weld.. As I do understand from pics TY down tubes max "width" is close width to crank case front assembly point to frame.. Maybe mini Majesty frames offer more space for pipe bend vs std TY? Thought about Craigs "short" pipe going betewen the down tubes..but the gap at my frame is closer and "TY down tubes angle bottom/top join, seen from front veiw is steaper vs my frame..damn..Thats why I hope my frame offers more space for bend inner radius..fingers crossed..Well well, can order one "std position" from Craig or Sammy and cut it if required, hopefully one time..
