g14gav
Hi, Any ideas how i can get more power from my ty175? As far as Im aware it is set up as standard with regards to the carb but it does have a wes exhaust. I have a choice of carbs i can use, either the standard, dellorto pwk26 or a keihn 28... Has anyone sucessfully got more power by changing things and if so where do I start? Whn I say more power I mean more grunt in most the range in general... Cheers

mattylad
There is so much that can be done. A TY175 is effectively half a TZ 350. Send me a PM for more details.
andy.t
I would say it depends on how much power you think you have now, probably an engine rebuild for a start would improve it, all the other bits you could do to it will improve it but getting the basics correct from the start is essential.Once the engine is spot on you could then fit Boyesen reed valves, play around with the pilot jets, fit the electronic ignition and so on,but I would say a perfect standard engine and carb from the start is the best bet before adding the extras.
