jimmyl
St Davids 2011 12 section done and dusted and all marked out for Saturdays practice and Sundays trial. 3 brand new ones and the rest all heavily modified. Some mega climbs and lots of banks and mud. Forecast is good for Saturday but looking like rain for Sunday. Sections have a good selection of traditional style hazards and a wet day may make the results interesting as if wet then grip will be at a premium Come along and watch Dibs and co get stuck into the sections. jimmyl
Yep - a bit boggy down in the woods. Insect repellent also a worthy selection as the midges might be out and about

nigel dabster
So what was the contingency when the weather forecast was so bad? Make it 2 laps?

gizza5
You of all people should know as soon as results are available they're up on't front page I know that Andy, just thought Dabster would have some hot of the press news if he is in Wales? Bloody Hell Andy no sooner said than done? The weather must have been bad and maybe a good decision to cut the trial to 2 laps. You can some things wrong, but you can't predict the weather even Slapshot can get it wrong. Remember once being put on delay in Park Ferme after we started because of the weather!! jimmyl
There is wet weather and there is what we had today - when the venue is limited to the streams/rivers and banks it is limited as to what you can change at the last minute(section are not just stuck in on the Saturday morning). The sections where changed yesterday after practice with all riders invited for their comments and all the riders requests to change sections where met before we left the venue last night (and the riders knew it was going to rain). Sections where further eased today before the start and eased again on the first lap when the champ boys got to some of the sections. But when the rivers and stream go into flood condition not sure what you suggest can be done. Best we could do was cut to 2 laps on safety grounds. Easy to pick fault but we are all volunteers and the putting on a BTC has probably involved nearly 900 miles personally traveling to the venue to mark out, attend practice and the trial over the last 5 weeks don't want to contemplate the number of hours put in. Apologies didnt realise the venue was so limited.
tricks
I think that both riders and organisers did a fantastic job considering the conditions yesterday The rain was non stop and as big as marbles at times, but the event was still great to watch - well done all involved
