davybull
I've stripped the wiring out of my 2001 TXT today, but I have a slight problem in that I now only have one wire to the thermostat that I presume switches the fan on! The blue wire is still there but the yellow wire ran into the loom to the handlebars! Where should I connect the other terminal of the thermostat? Should I just find a live feed? The machine starts and runs fine but it's just this one problem..... Any help greatly appreciated.
richywrecka
Sorry not to clever the wiring colours on gas gas, but dont connect your thermostat wire to a live feed, it should only be connected to the earth feed to the fan which will already have a live feed, the thermostat sends the earth to the fan to make it work. There is a way to test, if you start the bike and connect a wire to a good earth on the bike and try the other end in some of the connectors to see which one makes the fan turn on, the one that does is the one you need to connect the thermostat wire to. Hope this helps. also make sure when you find it to run the bike and make sure the fan kicks in. Richard.
