nigel dabster
How come Pol Tarres is riding a big bike in the Junior wtc yet still only 17?
alvin123
Are the rules different for ages in Europe? If that's not the case cheating Spaniards I would say.
nigel dabster
Up until this year if you are under 18 then its 125cc in Euro and WTC
Andy
The rules were changed this year. The age has been lowered in all categories to 16 so a rider can now ride a bike of any capacity as long as they have a driving licence from their own country that allows them to ride that capacity of machine. This change was proposed, perhaps unsurprisingly, by the Spanish Federation and accepted by the FIM.
bilc0
What a farcical. How does the Spanish Federation lay out there playing fields on a Hill.
bigwigg
Shame on the powers that be. Tarres does not have a licence for a bike larger than a 125. Dibs had to miss 3 or 4 events a few years ago or revert to a 125and Wiggy had battle round the world on a 125 against everyone else on big bikes. If it was accepted by the FIM the ACU rep on that committee should be ashamed of himself, its either a case of they weren't doing their job when dibs and wigg wanted help or they didn't do it now who was it? jonnybmac
Jut like any rule you you chanfe there will always be people that it wasnt fair on vecause they missed out but i think its a better rule. Who wants to ride a 125 at 18 if youve rode one for alot of years. Your top end of teenage years

Your top end of teenage years unless you ride in the wtc or euro rounds it doesn't affect you. the point of the thread is that Pol Tarres is either breaking the rules or for the first time in ten years the rules coincidentally have been changed to suit a spanish rider. outlaw dave
I'm a long way away over the other side of the pond, but this seems like a bit of a farce - We need rules to control the sport, but they should not be influenced or biased towards any one country.
