Thanks for the compliment,I found the bike on e-bay it ran ok but that was about it,I managed to find a good contact that helped out with a lot of NOS parts inc :rear hub, chain guard, side panels, exhaust plus the internet is a very valuable tool the frame and lots of small partsi had coated .The engine was in great shape(never been apart before)but i changed all the bearings and kickstart shaft for a later one (have had two snap before) the forks had to be re-chromed and a lot of hrs polishing.I done all the work myself (apart from the powder coating) I am very pleased with the finished bike . I know the alloy takes a lot of work to keep it looking good, but i enjoy polishing !! I work in the car bodyshop trade so to put a clear coat on it would'nt be a problem. As for what i used ,i have a old electic motor with a mop on it and only use a white soup alloy polish ,but its all in the prep !! i have a DA sander backing pad in a normal electric drill and a 400 grade disc this sounds to fine but it will remove all scratches in seconds and will polish up real quick on the mop.
