The young un had an off in a river today :rotfl: Should'nt laugh

Any who's the bike lay down for 30secs 1/4 submerged

When I got to him, picked it up it started no bother

10 mins later after running fine, it died :(

There's no spark

Plug replaced still no spark

When we got home I took off the stator cover and soaked it in WD40 (I dont know if I did good)

It's a 2008 Rev 3 200cc

I aint no mechanic! but any suggestions would be appriciated

After reading a few posts re: Stator

I went and got her indoors hair dryer (I dont need one) out

Up to the garage, and gave the poor wee thing a blow job dry

Another few "Scoot's" of WD and a new spark plug :)

2 kicks later after a pampering it burst into life

Panic over

Did you check the airbox? Empty it and clean the filter.

Stand the bike on the back wheel and see if any water comes out the exhaust

Strip and clean the carb thoroughly

Change the oil

It's not the water that's the problem but the grit and silt in the water so you need to do a proper clean up job

I dumped my sherco in the creak once, pulled the plug and tipped it upside down, pumped the water out of the cylinder. Cleaned the air filter with some 2-stroke fuel and finished the event. Did not touch the motor for 2 years. Was running pretty rough by then, Split the cases to fit some new Crank bearings and seals and I got a surprise. There was dirt/silt caked into the corners of the intake, the rings were blowing by so bad there were scorch marks on the cases UNDER the crank bearings. I think it was recycling the fuel. :D

Hope yours is not as much trouble.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give it the once over tonight

...and, more importantly, return that hair dryer or you will be in BIG TROUBLE... :chairfall:

I think I left it up in the garage  she'll go out this morning looking like she's been dragged through a hedge backwards

No change there then :rotfl:

I thought Sherco's came from the factory like that! ^_^

That is only because Sherco is very concerned about the environment. You see if the fuel/exhaust mix recirculates and burns a second time there is less emissions produced and better fuel economy. :D

My bike after being fixed really sucks down the fuel now. But it runs SSSOOOO MUCH better now.
