liviob
My 02 Rev3 250 air filter fitup is not correct. I have installed a new Beta filter and i noticed that the bottom pleat of the filter is tight against the bottom of the airbox. I fear no air will pass through it only through the sides. I have pulled the filter tight so that it extends farter out beyond the clamp around the edges but i dont think it has lifted the bottom pleat off the bottom of the air box. My question? Is there a filter element that has shorter sides and allows for an air space between the airbox and the filter element?
nzralphy
They are all like that. I have glued 3 pieces of 5mm square x 50mm section hard foam across the air box. This keeps the filter off the plastic airbox and air can flow. Happy days.
liviob
Thanks NZRalpy. I had thought of the same solution. I was hoping someone would know of an air filter that is made shorter so it doesnt rest against the airbox cutting off airflow. I'm certain one could be made to fit properly. Then i wouldnt be concerned about something ungluing itself from the air box and getting stuck in the carburator.
