I got it Friday and didn't think very much to it, mainly because of the lack of trials news. However I did think the review they did with the 4RT and Dougie Lampkin was good. Although it does lack in trials news I do understand why.... The ACU have to cater for many sports and so concentrating on more than one sport than another would be unfair. Pretty good for free though :D

It was intresting to see the pie chart at the front of the magazine stateing that there are more trials riders which are members of the ACU (32%) compared to motocross riders (16%).

Then why are the much more motocross mags than trials magazines, if theres more trials riders in the acu than motocross riders?!...

Maybe theres alot of people who dont even ride bikes buy motocross magazines?

The new SportMoto mag needs news etc from the centres/clubs to get into the mag. My own club has an article in this issue as I took the time to send it in.

As far as I am aware ALL clubs in the ACU were asked.

I'm sure now it has been released there will be more news on trials events and forthcoming events in future issues.

It is up to the clubs/centred to get their news etc in to the editorial staff.

If you don't send in articles/news how can it be publicised?

Even individual articles may be published, give it a try.

As for the cost, not sure about that, seems a little costly to me.

mx vs trials

off the top of my head virtually every centre has a healthy trials scene, and even theses not in the ACU (ie amca & ysma) are probable riding both

in mx at a local level the youth scene is more fractured while at adult level centre mx only happens in parts of the country (AMCA, ORPA, vintage, pre65, etc)

thus the mx community is bigger than ACU stats would show while trial is probable about right

NB several non riding club officials will be down as trials riders due to the ambiguity over senior administrate officials requiring / not requiring ACU affiliation
