He was easily provocked . I met him at breakfast in a Girona Hotel by chance earlier this year. On his way out i said "Are you Phillipe Berlatier". He replied "Yes". All i could think to say was "You were a very good rider. I remember .. your the rider who punched an observer in the USA". The minder was running up the section carrying a kicker - he would place it, and then pick it up and move it if Brunco decided to take another line.
