spawtydawg
Hi, have just removed the primary drive gear off a 247cota which was a real struggle, the amount of pressure and heat required was incredible, can anyone tell me if this is normal on these bikes? Thanks.
dave_t
Yes it is, I had a 247 many years ago and needed to change crank seal, took an 18ton hydraulic puller left in place for a couple of hours to move it, when it came off motor jumped about ten feet across workshop, not a nice job. belldane
You are very, very lucky to have got it off. I have struggled for hours on end to get those gears off on my bikes and like Dave_T has said when they do come off, either motors can fly across the room or the gear can also come off and leave a permanent tatoo on your forehead. Go buy yourself a lottery ticket, you must be blessed. Wait until you have to take the sprocket off, specially if it has not been changed for a while !!
