trialtrial
I just got a Gas Gas 2000 TXT 280. The rad fan did not work. I tried to power the rad fan directly with 12VDC, but its DOA. Upon taking it apart I also notice the wiring harness was a bit cut up - missing the connector to the thermostat. Using a wiring diagram I found online, I can locate the ignition module and regulator, but hell if I can find the rectifier. This bike looks like it has a wiring harness for lights, horn, etc. There is a group of wires going to under the carb near the exhaust, but they are the wrong colour - not sure where they are heading. - where is the rectifier physically located? - is there a more complete wiring diagram somewhere that includes the wiring for the lights and horn? thanks. gilbertdave
Hi, I had a similar probglem with my 250TXT. My fan was ok when tested with 12VDC, but the either the rectifier or the temp sensor was broken (I'm still nto sure which one as I replaced both at the same time). Assuming your bike is the same as mine, the rectifier should be mounted to the rear of the radiatior (at teh top left). Its a black box (approx 1" x 1". I also struggled slightly with wiring colours. There is a drawing on the Gas Gas website (here) To find the rest of the wiring diagrams, click here I'm not to sure about the fan motor replacement, but there is a sticky link on this forum explaing how to do it. Hope this helps. Good luck. Dave
trialtrial
Thanks Dave, It looks like the rectifier is gone missing. No biggy, I am sure I can put in a full wave bridge recto and be done with it. I founf thoses wiring diagrams, but they don't list info about the horn, lights, controls etc. There is a group of wires that go to the back shock, But I cannot see what they connect to. There is also a re/black that goes to the rear caliper. Any clue what all this is? thanks
