zao9
Hi Recently purchased an Ohlins rear shock for my Beta. Have tried setting it up as stated in the manual but carnt get it in the tolerances. The travel difference is suppost to be 65-75mm from when nothings on the bike to when I am on the bike. I can only get it to 95mm. I think the spring may be the wrong one for my weight, but I carnt make sense of the serial code looked everywhere and still no joy. Any info would be gratefull. The spring number is 00281-15/70 L1011. and I am 13 stone with riding gear on . Thanks Jack

splatshop
Hi Jack We just added a little guide to the spring rates on our site, if you like to look you can find it here: http://www.splatshop.co.uk/ohlins-rear-shock-absorber.html Your spring is a 70N/mm spring and is about right for your weight but I did speak to our supplier and he mentioned that the Beta Evo's require a little more preload than the other bikes or possibly the next harder spring. We can supply you a new spring, email me if you are interested.
