I thought since i had a breakdown of parts i would know how to put my forks back together, but i have a spring that came out that is not in the parts diagram. Can anyone identify this spring as supposed to be in the fork? i think i have it in the right place, it is a small spring that has a small end and a big end. i labled it in the pic below.

That does look correct as best I recall, and its the "top out" spring upon full extension of the fork.

Mind you, I have not had one of these apart since yours was new, thus, I have slept since then, and possibly others may confirm. Normally, there is no real reason to pull the damper rod out of the top tube on seal replacement or oil change. At least it appears your lower bearing came out of the lower unit "with" the top tube, as sometimes they come off and fall down into the lower unit and get stuck.

I thought that is how it went, just wanted to make sure. Strange that it is not in the parts diagram that i have. I pulled it apart because my fork tube was bent and i wanted to be able to clean it all up because there were metal shavings when i pulled it apart becuase of the damage to the tube.
