bob
Have you adjusted the tickover screw (in for more revs)? If yes then could it be some carburation problem like muck in the pilot jet?
matt
it is common for a beta to have dodgy electrics. dont know exactly. ring john lampkin!
bob
yeah ignition is dodgy sometimes but if that is broken then I dont think that it will start atall.

clarkp
Hammy - is it possible that you didn't get the woodruff key installed, or it slipped out when you re-installed the flywheel? If the flywheel is slipping on the crankshaft you'll have problems similar to what you've described. jjWhite - judging from the vast number of posts you've submitted, and from your thoughtful response to hamster's problem you would be much more helpful if you grab a women's underwear catalog and go get ahold of yourself - come back and contribute when / if you get a job, or when / if you can grow facial hair. stewart3871
Hamster, I had the same problem during a trial on saturday although i've not interfered with the flywheel weight. The bike would idle for a short time then just stop. This may sound too obvious, but have you changed the plug? Once i changed mine on saturday it ran fine again. hamster
on the o4 bikes the weight just screws on to the front of the fly wheel i will change the plug as soon as i can stand again (done my back in at work no trials for me for a month)
terry
Don't forget the fuel filter. If it is stopping up the bike will starve for fuel. Pinched fuel line? Had a similar problem with a bike and it was starving for fuel.
jaylael
An old friend of mine had a Beta flywheel weight catastrophe when he used slightly too long allen bolts to secure the weight. Make sure your bolts are not over long because they scrape on the vital stator coils. Jay
