efi64
My son's 16.0 24v. has a lot of friction in the forward direction and even more friction in the other direction. The bike works well, but because of the extra friction the batteries are drained after half an hour. Has anyone opened the electric motor to replace the bearings ? Thanks. mitchell
the bearings in these motors are sealed and are probably not the issue. more than likely it is a brush hanging up in the brush hood. they are a pretty strait forward design but the hard part is getting every thing back together. it could also be a timing issue with the motor in that it may need to be advanced a little. these motors do have very strong magnetic fields and with no freewheel you are always fighting the (force field) of the magnets.Hope this helps
