Looks like the end of and era............

After seeing so many people offended by traditional Bull fighting in Catalonia, it looks like this could be the end of an era. Myself, I think those long endured sports should be kept alive by those who wish to attend. If other animal activists are offended, they don't have to watch or take part. In the U.S., Bull fighting has never taken place, to my knowledge. Americans can travel to Mexico to view this sport, if they wish, as I did when I was a child. In America, we have our own breed of animal activists, PETA, (people eating tasty animals), and they cause enough trouble here, from, burning stores and establishments, to ruining the character of people who choose to wear fur coats. I say, live and let live. :icon_salut:

It's a contentious subject.

I think many of the Brits on here will think about the ban on fox hunting. Lovely creatures foxes. If you're a townie but for the country folk they are serious pest. Fox hunting has adapted but now foxes are rife.

To the subject. It's a brutal sport bullfighting but at least the bull has a slim chance. Better than it has in an abbatoir. But what gets me is the end of a great tradition. That's sad.

(no foxes nor bulls were harmed during the writing of this post)

The catalans have never been big into bullfighting, there is only one bullring active presently so the ban is as much to do with the independence of the area as much as anything else.

''.....live and let live..''??? :blink::rotfl:

The fox hunting thing..if it's vermin,kill it,fair enough but the sight of a bunch of toffs getting a hard on from chasing a fox through the countryside is the objectionable bit.

I've asked this related question to Laia,Toni,Adam and Albert before;

Do your countrymen still chuck the donkey off the bell-tower? Discuss.

The unspeakable in pursuit of the uneatable?

Who cares if it's a bunch of inbred retards chasing the vermin?

When I see some of these chumps trying to do the 'bull-run' in Pamplona, I can't help thinking ; if you wan't to get a horn rammed up your jaxie in front of a lot of excited men..just get arrested for summat and go to prison :moon: .

If the Spaniards insist on killing a bull for a laugh how about the bullfighter drops his swords,his costume,horse,cloak,ropes, assistants etc. and takes on the bull with just his bare hands.

That should even up the fighting bulls chances some what :rolleyes: ?:-

(I think this bull was tame)
