motomanandy
Has any one noticed a vast difference in maintainance costs and parts prices between the major manufactorers? Im completly stuck as to which bike to buy relyability and parts costs are worth knowing any advise welcome
t-shock 250
Personally i wouldn't worry too much about the differing parts cost between brands as trials bikes really don't need the volume of parts or maintenance compared to any other form of motorcycle sport. I would choose the bike which suits you best after you have ridden them all.
cabby
as trials bikes really don't need the volume of parts or maintenance compared to any other form of motorcycle sport. What ? Are you being serious ? Seriously, are you being serious ??????
shercofray
Its true they need very little parts compared to road racing and mx. When you have to change tyres, rebuilds etc after each meeting. Easily the cheapest motorcycle sport.
cabby
Ahh...I see, I was thinking more along the lines of just road riding, fair point
t-shock 250
Motorcycle SPORT, this does not include road riding, obviously.
motomanandy
I was looking to buy a sherco 290 but after going to a local meet and seeing 75% riders on Beta and only 2 shercos alarm bells were ringing, thought there must be a monetry(if thats a word) reason for avoiding them! pindie
Trials is a really cheap sport if you go second hand. Cheaper than mountain bikes!
motomanandy
Trials is a really cheap sport if you go second hand. Cheaper than mountain bikes! Thats what i like to here after 7 years of mx/xc/enduro! The four strokes are crippling the sport through maintainance costs and noise, hopfully trials doesnt go down the fourstroke pipe quite as fast
shercofray
Depends what the local dealer is. People stick with the local trend I've seen in a lot of cases.
