brucey
I just got my spare Cub frame from the attic to fit some strengthening plates. Before I do, is there a recognised way to steepen the steering head angle and is this a worthwhile mod? Cutting the head casting looks a bit dodgy but extending the top tube and/or shortening the down tube looks possible. Although I wouldn't have a clue by how much! I know I've got it up for sale but I find it hard to resist building things in the shed and feel another project comming on!

I know every frame is different but I was wondering what the ideal head angle is for a trials bike?
charlie prescott
Hi Guy's Before you do any frame mods you realy need a jig to secure the frame to. and then adust it to suit. Or how do you keep the frame square? I have known a standard Cub have the head angle modified by heating the top and front down tube, But in a jig. Classic (Britshocks) head angle is usaly about 63 degrees but I have gone to 54 to give it a try on my SQ framed bike. Take a look at the jig on my web site. www.bsaotter.com. (gallery). Being stupid !! you can always run the bike into a concreat wall? It as said to have been done in the past. Regards Charlie.
