andat
Kevin Schwantz and Roger DeCoster both started in Trials. Jon As did James Toseland..East Midlands Centre TY80 Champion in 1992 (ish). I know this to be a fact, 'cos my lad won it in 2005 and JT's name is on the trophy and he confirmed it when we met him at Brands WSBK in 2007
jordi
All reasonable replies, but the question was riders from other disciplines who came to trials, not the other way round. Not many I would wager.
toofasttim
but the question was riders from other disciplines who came to trials, not the other way round. Not many I would wager. It's a poser that one. But Sammy was a road racer before he turned to trials (3rd in the 1957 250cc Grand Prix in championship). Granty? He said he would have rather been a trials rider but was better at road racing than trials. When he retired from road racing he had the opportunity to indulge his first love.
