rick600xt
G'day, my name is Rick. Live in New South Wales, Australia. Have been into motorbikes for the last 40 odd years, mainly trail and moto cross, but rode a few trials bikes in the 70's (I'm showing my age now), have got the twin shock trials bug and have purchase a #82 Italjet T350, goes great, just needs a bit of tender loving care, in the way of tyres, a bit of suspension work and basically some paint and polish!!So, I would be happy to hear from anyone who knows anything about the Italjet marque and/or offer any trials tips for an older guy riding a 'green frog'. Thanks for taking the time to read my intro, and cheers.
bullylover
Hello Rick. Welcome to this site from another Aussie. The Italjets were very good bikes in there time. I can remember in about 1981 they were the hot thing to buy. An Italian Bultaco! The only things to really watch on them were to ease into the kickstart stroke softly and slowly and don`t just kick the hell out of them or else they will break the kickstart shaft. Another problem was if they are ridden hard they could also break the steering stem but you did have to ride them hard like an A grader. Is your Italjet the one that was advertised on the Trials Australia site, if it is it looked very good, like it had hardly done any work. If you ride in the twinshock class in Aussie it is the same lines as the clubmen so there is nothing to radical in the sections. Most of them are easy with a few that you have to think about lines and stuff. Good Luck and enjoy. Bully Lover.
mrb505
G'day Rick, See you live in the Hunter valley so you are extremely lucky to have the Denman club nearby they usually have 8 meetings a year, only for twinshocks and classics, four different lines to ride A/B/C and clubman so there is something for riders of all skill levels from Australian Champion to Beginners, everyone is friendly and its a relaxed atmosphere and there is usually a Italjet or 3 being ridden. http://www.denmanmcc.com/page23.php Cheers Ross

I purchased my bike from a gentleman who purchased it from the advert on the Trials Australia site, and you're correct in saying that it looks as though it hasn't done much work, there is only 1,000 mile on the speedo, which is not bad for a 1982 model, averages out to about 33miles/year! I hope to have a go at some twin shock events in the New Year, and was more encouraged when I read you're comments about the sections for clubman being 'nothing to radical'. Thanks again and have a Merry Christmas & New Year, Cheers Rick600XT.
