Round 10 Peak Classic Trials Club Championship Bracken Rocks 27th November

Unexpected overnight rain made the course at Bracken rocks a bit more slippery than intended but the 47 riders who contested Round 10 of the Peak Classic Trials Club Club Championship rose to the occasion and everybody had a great time at this very popular venue in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District. 47 entrants was a fabulous turn out that made all the effort put in by Paul Beswick setting 11 sections with the help of Tony Sprinks and input from legendary Mick Andrews that tested the riders abilities without being dangerous worthwhile.

Current Intermediate Twinshock Championship leader and reigning East Midlands Centre ACU Classic Twinshock Champion Tony Sprinks took up observing for the day as his faithful Bultaco was poorly so he had to watch on while his Championship rival Ian Bend rode to second place in the Intermediate Twinshock class cutting Tonys Championship lead by 17 points. Could have been worse for Tony if not for Ashley Hallows, making an infrequent appearance at one of our trials, taking the class win depriving Ian of another precious 3 championship points.

Also making an infrequent appearance at our trials was the reigning East Midlands Centre ACU Classic British Bike Champion Barry Burton who rode his Tiger Cub into second place in the Expert British Bike category which was won by Pete Carson who is currently leading the Club Championship in the expert British Bike Class great rides guys with the pair trading scores as the trial progressed. In fact the Carson clan had a great day taking a clean sweep with Peter winning the Expert British Bike honours and his son Robert crusing to a win on the Expert Twinshock route and last but not least Peters brother Derek Carson taking the win on the Intermediate British Bike course. Sounds like an extension to the Carson awards cabinet will be required?

The Clubman British Bike class was narrowly won by course setter Paul Beswick on a very sick sounding James by just 1 mark from Graham Lyons on his BSA Bantam. Looks like an engine strip is on the cards for Pauls James so heres hoping Santa is listening and the parts are on their way.

So with the Club Championship drawing to a close even though some of the final Championship places have now been decided some of the classes are still up for grabs check out our website www.peakclassic.co.uk for more details.

As a club we are still suffering from a lack of observers with the riders having to observe themselves on a lot of the sections so if you fancy a go at observing at our next trial please come along we do offer a small reward for your time and trouble and it

The trial was very good, i did not ride as well as usual but it did not matter because i was having fun!

Also good to see/hear a nice vartiety of bikes.

I will not be able to make the next event in December due to work but should be back in the new year.

Thanks for that Steve it really is appreciated as is the number of e mails i have received along the same lines it really does make the effort all seem worthwhile.
