matteo
I've yet to see anyone using one of these to mount a Keihin in place of the Dellorto without having to use the manifold and other parts from the Raga/Race models but heard a couple years back the inital ones didn't work very well. They're still in the catalog and always get questions from people interested in trying the Keihin and would if could get a simple adapter like this. The newer type maifold is better anyway in that there is only one area to seal against leaks instead of two. Anyone who has tried one, could you give feedback? Thanks. gasgas46
Hi there, just seen your post, I recently bought a second hand keihin to fit on my gasser which had the adapter on the end of it, having tried it I wouldnt recommend as it sits carb to far back meaning that airbox bolts dont qute line up! All you need to fit keihin is a reed block spacer, its a plate about 10-12mm thick n sits between head and inlet, i ran one on my old 300 and worked a treat as does new 280. A keihin will fit into original manifold just needs bit of persuasion!

Thanks for the reply, I have the Keihin with the raga set up I was just wondering about the Jitsie for others being a simpler way of doing it. I would be careful on using the dellorto manifold with the Keihin though because over time the pressure could split the rubber.

Yes i know what u mean but i had it on my 300 for approx 3 years and was fine,ul find that once it been in for a lil while the rubber gives and fits easy each time. Anyway least we both got rite carb on!

It doesn't always happen but I've seen a couple of split manifolds using the PWK in the Dellorto manifold. Like I mentioned in our e-mails, I haven't seen the Jitsie adapter in person but I would wonder about the necking down of the 28mm to the 26mm and if that would negate some of the advantages of using the PWK. If there is not too much of a venturi effect, it might be a good way mount the Keihin. Jon

Jon Thanks Jon, yes I wondered about that too but with the cost of converting the standard Pro to the parts from the Raga (the reed block alone is over $100)there are riders who would try the Keihin if it were a simple bolt on by just needing the adapter and the throttle cable. Maybe only guys riding the top sections would notice a difference when the bike is really revved out! But also, as you said there are other ways to go about it like the 370 manifold (Or the 03 pro manifold) and the spacer. Thanks again. Matt, Jitsie is pretty solid in their designs so I would imagine it would be an improvement. If you try one out, I'd be interested in your report. It would make the conversion a lot easier. Anyway least we both got rite carb on! I see what you mean now, I put a Keihin in the 04-present Dellorto manifold and it went in easier than thought, had matched it up before but never thought to cram it in there, but can see it could be a real knuckle buster if doing it while mounted on the bike until it conforms more to the shape! Jon Not sure what I was thinking about using the 03 and 370 set ups because doing it that way means you still need the reed cage along with the manifold and spacer so the cost would actually be more than using the Raga parts, as the rubber tube takes the place of the spacer and is much less expensive. So I can see why people just get the spacer with standard manifold to use. I'll let you know how it is with the adapter.
