james111089
Hi, On my tlr 200 i have noticed that the front sprocket can travel alot on the shaft either way. The chain has been rubbing on the engine casing aswell, is there spose to be a spacer away from the casing on the shaft behind the sproket?? Where can i get one?? Also where can i get the rubber bushes for the rear sprocket?? James
slapshot 3
James, Suspect the gearbox sprocket problem is simply wear on the Gearbox Shaft, mine is okay, not awesome but okay. I think the only way to fix it is a new shaft. dy Edited April 12, 2005 by Slapshot
g4321
Shim out the sprocket so that there is no sideways movement against the circlip with some washers, it takes a little time to sort out but it is worth it to try and minimise shaft wear. At the same time you can use washers to ensure that the chain alignment is closer to what you would prefer.
golfpro
Hi James I got a TLR a couple of months ago and had a similar problem I think. I spoke to Gorden Farley Motorcycles (01483 538485). There answer was a sprocket (9 tooth) with a boss on the back of it and a splined washer. The washer goes on the shaft first with some black grease, next the sprocket and circlip. This combination keeps the chain and sprocket well away from the engine casing. Job done for less than
james111089
im sure there is spose to be a spacer as when the sprocket is on theres like a gap of 0.5cm at the side of it, maybe a bit more or less. James
