Hi everybody how low should the coolant be in the rad, mine sits on top of the cores in the rad as you can see them through the water.I know when you fill it it looses abit & it finds its level.But after giving it a clean today i noticed the oil was cloudy i'm wondering if the o rings in the head are on there way out as i've just done the water pump last year when it had mains put in.It does drip water out when i top it up for a few minutes then once its found its level its fine but the water just seems abit low in the rad.Ithink it might be worth changing the o rings for peace of mind,is there a sequence they have to be loosend & tightend up. CHEERZ.

Mine sits at the same height (2007 280cc txt pro) so I'd say that was about right.

Changing the combustion chamber to head o rings is an easy task, after you've removed the old ones and cleaned up the flange just use a smidge of grease to help hold the seals in place while you lower it into position.

Torque the m6 socket cap screws up gradually in a crisscross pattern, 7-8Nm if I remember correctly.

Don't be surprised if the water pump seal has gone though, even only after a year. If you didn't replace the shaft at the same time as the seal it won't last as long as if you had.

Thanks for the reply tankygsy,the whole waterpump assembley was replaced when the mains were done last year so i would hope i would get a better life span out of the waterpump seals.It was just a thought that it was the o rings as it spits the water out of the over flow until it reaches its level & yes the fan is working ok.
