boofont
I've just sealed my rim band with a product called "PRC", its used to seal (among other things) fuel tanks in the aircraft industry. It remians slightly flexible, it has to as wings tend to flex in flight. I sealed around the rim tape and not the spokes. I should stil be able to tighten the spokes. feetup
Problem solved. I went with the grease solution (blue marine waterproof grease). All around the inside of the spokes, put the band on, (grease helped with that too) and made sure everthing was secure. Spooned on the tire, filled w/ air, waited till next morning. Still holding same pressure. Thanks for all the help here!
nigel dabster
My guess is that you have sealed the rim tape and the grease has helped you get it on. I cannot see how the grease would seal a spoke not like sikaflex would. Well done for doing the right job, remember the spaish guy in the factory manages to do it all day long it can't be that tricky.
