gasgas46
Hey you guys! Just wondering if anyones had any bother with these wheels leaking around edge of rim, It has a IRC tyre fitted and looks to be seated fine all round on both sides however just pumped it upto bout 40psi and discovered its leaking on 1 side, the problem is it is fine at 4 or 5psi when not in use but as soon as hit any rocks etc it doesnt stay up long! Any advice would be appreciated.

jordi
I think you may find its not the wheel, its the IRC tyre, do a search on the forums and you will find plenty of others with IRC problems the same.
gasgas46
cheers for the link B40RT and yes i agree its probs the tyre not rim, the tyre has very small grooves close to the edge of the rim most are fine but ive noticed where it is leaking is always where these are, think going to remove tyre and gently scrubb them off and clean rim and refit. smalley250
The problem is they are 4mm in diameter to large, so regardless to what you do it will fail every time it gets impact. My bike came with one on and held pressure until at trials, so i put X11 on it no issues now. Shame as i liked IRC tyres.
copemech
There seems far too many reports on this issue now, And on different rims, so seems about time a general warning went out unless one is using a tube in them. Dealers need to contact the factory and have these things bought back! Add to this, if a trials tire don't go on a tubeless rim with a good solid pop(bang) at 30-40 psi or better, it just ain't right! Not sure if any have noticed this , but the bead tension is all that holds these things on. I will not venture to use one till we have a "clean date" on the mfg. smalley250
What amazes me is people think its the rim. Surely an X11 would fail on the same rim or Dunlop
