stonezone Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Share Posted March 27, 2012 They are just an overall pain to work with. even when i nip them they tend to slid out of place when slide the whole unit over and onto the carb... I have seen something that's a rubber plug with a threaded metal insert....are they called well nuts? I'm going to look around. I just went through this, so the hassle is fresh in my mind! The plate gets pop rivited to in place and the nut portion can still move around to align with the fastener. You may find these at a local hardwae store search for them on the web. I like this idea. Those nuts are a PIA especially when doing field repairs, they knock off too easy and can fall in the muck.
