cookie
Hi everyone I've just bought my '86 Tlr 200 reflex, a real beauty. As these bikes are new to me, can any one tell me what is the difference between the Reflex and other models. the only difference that I can see is the wheels , on the Reflex the wheels are Chrome. Also what is a wes exhaust?
cookie
Diffrences between a Reflex and a TLR200 are steel rims, 33mm fork stanchtions, and different color tank, mudguards, and sidepanels.WES exhaust is aftermarket alloy exhaust system, which is ideal if your original is rotted, and quite a bit lighter. Thanks for that. So what size stauntions are on the TLR 200? My bike is in road trim at the moment, so I will have to strip off the lights, Battery, Ignition etc, to get it ready for trials. is this a difficult operation? and are there any info on wiring for trials. Should I do anything else, like change the gearing or are the TLRs OK Any help greatfully received Cookie
g4321
Stanchtions on TLR are 34mm Misstype here should have read 35mm. Should find lighting kit wiring easy to strip off to leave a simple loom for the ignition system in separate wiring plugs.
cookie
Stanchtions on TLR are 34mm, removing the wiring is pretty easy, and its really just a matter of disconnecting everything and taking it off. If you still have original steering lock/ignition switch, then the two bolts hold it to the top yoke, wont have any heads, so you will need to tap them round with a sharp punch to get them out, without causing damage. You will need a 9 tooth gear box sprocket, and possibly a bigger one on the back as well, if you still need to go lower. If the bike is a recent import from Japan, then it will probably have the gear lever, that is fitted with a linkage..........its a good idea to get rid of this, and fit a normal type lever. Other than that always a good idea to change engine oil, and clean both of the filters before riding the bike much. Thanks for the Info Guys 9 tooth sprocket ordered, this will take it to 9-44 Can anyone tell me what type of oil to use ie make/grade/wieght etc, and how often to change it. Need new tyres as well, what is the best type for trials? Cheers Brian (cookie)
