docrogers
Hey, Okay, I have an old Reflex with a perpetually sticky throttle. I have cleaned and lubed the cable and the throttle to no avail. My guess is that the cable housing is crimped somewhere and that the fix is a new one. Problems: first, how does one remove the cable from the throttle assembly? Doesn't seem possible to get the ball end through the housing; my guess is that Honda designed it that way. Assuming that, it seems near impossible to get a replacement cable, so what can I do for a replacement throttle cable + housing + tube? Sources? Part #s? Replacements/substitutes? docrogers
Okay, now I feel silly - found the whole deal on B&J Racing and will likely call them tomorrow, unless there are other suggestions??
lineaway
You could cut it off drill it out and order an after market cable for an xr 200. But there is nothing wrong with supporting Bob.
Rollox
Hi DocRogers, have a look here: http://www.tytrials.co.uk/trailandtrialsuk/cat_154758--17-Levers-Cables.html http://www.venhill.co.uk/ http://venhillusa.com/ I use a Venhill throttle cable with an Amal T80/200 Twistgrip and a Venhill clutch cable. Gives much smoother and lighter action than Honda cables. Don`t lubricate with oil, better with teflon spray (PTFE). For front brake I like the more rigid OEM Honda cable.
