Hi, i have got some Triumph 3TA fork bottoms, and have been told that i can fit bultaco/fantic/montesa stanchions, i was wondering how i could get some 35mm stanchions in the 3TA 32mm bottoms? any help would be appreciated,

You have to get the sliders machined out and the alloy sliders on the 35mm forks machined down to fit inside the 3TA bottoms. Very accurate machining needed. Definately a diy job unless you are a good machinist with access to decent lathe etc. The alloy sliders need maching down to approx 1mm wall thickness and if you dont get it right they are scrap. If you are not that skilled better to contact someone who does this for a living and has done them before so knows the score. It's not cheap but transforms the handling. Dont forget you will need new yokes too.

just as otf has said .. get someone to doit who does it regularly! its very easy to make a mistake that wrecks the forks permanently. source a sett of 35mm legs off ebay (other sales sites are available)

dont forget the yolks as otf mentioned they will need replacing modding.

great thanks, so would i have to machine the bushes down to 35mm internal on standard 3ta bushes, or with the 35mm bushes turn the external diameter to fit a 32mm leg? thanks

You dont machine the bushes at all in fact what happens is the 3TA legs ar machined smooth all the way down to accept the alloy sliders on the 35mm forks which have also been machined smooth to have an interference fit into the 3TA legs and are loctited in.
