nils
Hi My Yamaha TY 125 reveils some problems during shifting; for example a shifting pedal that doesn"t return. It also takes a lot of effort to change gear... I just reassembled my engine, WITH renewed gear mechanism in the small compartiment on the left hand side. Do you think I should replace all springs which are linked to the selecting mechanism? Thanks! Nils Edited April 28, 2012 by Nils
handsome_al
Hi Nils I know nothing about the TY125 but my TY250 mono was having serious gear selection problems .... even after full rebuild. Adding Molyslip Multiglide (motorcycle wet clutch) has made a BIG difference. Good luck Alan
andy.t
I think I would drain the oil remove the cover and have a look at whats going on inside. Did you set up the selector arm as described in the Haynes manual? Just had another thought, if you have renewed the selector cover and linkage parts there could be a problem with those parts. I think somebody did mention they had a problem with the hole in the cover not being drilled straight causing the selector to bind. Have you tried to loosen the cover screws to see if it improves the return of the selector shaft. Edited April 29, 2012 by Andy.T
searay175
If you replaced the gearchange cover either loosen the screws as previous post or put your old cover back on to see if it still acts the same before tearing it back apart.
