ba baraccus
Ok I am trying to clean up an old K-Roo Fantic and I was just wondering what methods you guy use to clean up the old unpainted white mudguards that this bike and many other Fantics had? Its the big rear guard/seat panel and I would like to get it something like white again Cheers guys for any tips Edited April 25, 2005 by BA Baraccus
james111089
I used some like paste stuff on my ty's mudguards. Think it was astonish oven cleaner or summin like that. Worked a treat for me you then just gotta polish them after to give then a bit of a shine again. James
arun1664
I had some success on the yellow platics of my old PE175 using a combination of wire wool to start with followed by rag and some stuff called faracle, which I think is a course T Cut like paste the motor trade use. Whatever you end up doing I suggest you run a test on an area that is out of sight first.
pete
I reckon a fairly strong degreaser/cleaner and an old stiff toothbrush or similar will do the trick-if you have a lot of time and patience! Other than that, no idea! Pete.
superhondaman
Just use thick bleach & a nail brush, scrub it in, leave for 10-15min then presure wash off. Also after washing the bike go all over with a bathroom mouse let it work for 10 min, wash off and you then have one clean bike.
prw
Try BRASSO it worked on my sons ty,deep scratches can be parred down using a new stanley knife blade pulled across the surface, then buff up with a good polish.Silicone spray gives a good shine to plastics, just spray on then leave overnight and wipe off any excess next day. bikespace
Jif used to do the trick. I think someone in their wisdom changed the name to cif or summat, but I would think it would be similar. Needs to be a little abrasion in there.
robee
I've used this stuff called "Bleche White". Works great! It is designed for cleaning white wall tires.

Made a fantastic difference, its white again Only thing that lets it down is the seat has faded from the flourecent yellow to a dull yellow colour! Oh well you canr win em all Thanks again guys!!!
