haggi961
Rear wheel bearings is my guess, check for play in the rear wheel as the sound could be traveling with the chain.

lineaway
A well used Beta could develop a good clutch whine. I have heard a few and owned one once. Was never a problem, but was out of the norm. I hope this is your noise. Good luck.
copemech
He states this as a scraping of gringing noise, so pull ple plug out and rotate the motor by hand with the flywheel to listen to it and what may be rough! Feel for excess play vertically and laterally in the flywheel as well. Main bearings may be in question if this noise is present with clutch in an no rotation of trans parts. Thoughts,
roofis303
checked the clutch last night and the water pump also / the bike has stopped making this noise it is a whining noise and not a scrapping noise . anyway it has gone just now not sure what it was

outlaw dave
Check the inside of the waterpump cover to see if the impellor shaft has been touching - we had a couple with casting imperfections that needed grinding off so that the shaft didn't touch as the motor got hot. - ( Took us a while to figure it out as it came & went )
