leeross
what do you think about having a bike with or without matching engine/frame numbers? what difference does it make?
totalshell
many manufacturers didnt even start with matching frame/ engine numbers.. after 50 years i suspect very few bikes have the same engine as they started out life with and if they do they will either be museum pieces sat neglected at the back of a shed or with a bike in current use, the internals will be so far removed from the starting point that the engine number is of intrest only to academics.. bashplate
just put it together and ride , most classic trials bikes are bitsas any way...and many road bike too as stuff gets canibalized to keep stuff running. only the concours dudes fuss over matching numbers...can't see the point myself. trialsrfun
what do you think about having a bike with or without matching engine/frame numbers? what difference does it make? Quite a few bikes when built do not even have the same make of engine and frame so do not worry.
