kramit
Probably one of the best articles about Trials I have ever read. Len Weed could sure add some interesting details. Martin..were you entered in the event? Is it true Griffits was selling those onions by the side of the road after the event?
zippy
I just did a quick look, Loved the captions "Martin Lampkin demostrating body English" next picture: "Marland Whaley demonstrating body American" the writer had a good sense of humor

Martin..were you entered in the event? Is it true Griffits was selling those onions by the side of the road after the event? No I wasn't there. I was in Spain. Len Weed was the best. Great article. It wasn't Griffitts. It was Guguliemeli with the onion farm.

martin belair
Marland's result in Washington made him the 6th youngest rider to ever podium. One place ahead of Doug Lampkin by 9 days. 1. Manuel Soler 16 yrs 11 mo 24 days 2. T. Fujinami 17 yrs 4 mo 12 days 3. T Ahvala 17 yrs 9 mo 21 days 4. M Colomer 17 yrs 9 mo 21 days 5. K Kuroyama 17 yrs 10 mo 23 days 6. M Whaley 18 yrs 22 days 7 D Lampkin 18 yrs 31 days It's not really a fair list because the rules changed from 18 to 16 years old and then back to 18 as a minimum.
