Plenty to choose from,if you want modern there is West Wilts motor club,Swindon and district mcc plus plenty of others, just look in TMX regs available. If you want Twinshock or P65 trials then there is Bath Classic,Golden Valley or Somerton Classic all in the area.

I dont know for sure about the modern clubs,I only ride P65 and twinshock. If you are over 50 years old you can ride modern bikes in most classic clubs, but they would rather see you on a twinshock or P65. The easy routes at classic trials are going to be easier than the C route at modern trials.

I often get people coming along as complete novices or returning riders who have been out of it for a long time. Our B route is always laid out to be friendly to novice riders and older pre unit/rigid bikes.

My advice,( I may be very biased so dont take too much notice...) is to come along to a few events and see what good fun it is at classic trials. Then find a decent Ty175 or 200 Fantic and join in.
