tazz229
No you would need a full bike licence to ride a 250 on the road.
stecks
Interesting question Bondy. I think only an insurance company, or someone on here who works for one, could answer this. Not sure they separate out the elements of the insurance, i.e. riding it on the road and the theft element. I'd be interested to hear what you discover... tazz229
Oh if it's just to insure while it's parked up at home put it on your contents...
utm
Sounds more like house insurance to me, if it's not being ridden on the road?
bmseven
You will need a full bike license for motor insurance & dont think you will have any luck putting it on your house insurance
rabie
surely you can get insurance for your competition machine regardless of it road registered status or the owners (lack) licence. aren't people like MSM insurance and carol nash advertising in TMX all the time (aimed at MX bikes)
NAD1
Motor vehicles are not covered under home insurance. I had the argument with a home insurer a few years ago. They'll cover a mountain bike worth £6,7,8000 that just stands in the garage and is so easily stoken but won't cover a £500 trials bike that is locked and chained to the ground etc. You can get laid up insurance based on frame number etc but from my experience - albeit a few years ago - it was a LOT easier and cheaper to register, tax and insure your trials bike.
