jeffm
I have an 06' Sherco 290 with stock springs. I know having an enduro bikes spring rate for your weight is very important but how important is it for a trials bike? I weigh 180lbs or about 80 kilos without gear. Should stock springs be good for me (a novice) or should I consider heavier springs? From other post it seams important to have front and rear compress at same rate and roughly about 1/3 rider sag. Is this correct? Thanks,
tazz229
http://www.Gas Gas.c...nsion-tips.html Well worth a read... That damn link!!! copemech
Heavy springs for these are like unobtanium, do not worry! You should be fine, although you may have a bit more load(race)sag than suggested. Set the static sag(weight of bike on wheels) as 10-20mm so you have a little float there and you should be fine. There are many better riders much heavier than you on stock springs.
