andy.t
I'm thinking about trying out some of the Magicals front fork springs on my TY175 as the old ones feel a little tired. Has anyone fitted them and noticed a change that would justify me buying some. Cheers for any replies.
goudrons
Not fitted them myself, but a mate bought a pair (then another) and sent them all back, though not the TY, but Ossa. They were far too short, when checked if they were right, he was told to fit spacers, so there was 3 inches of travel lost! The coiling of the springs were far too tight, so they locked up with hardly any travel, also the progressive coiling was just an inch and a half of tighter coiling at one end, and as the coiling was already tight enough, it hardly seemed worth it. Don't know if these were just a one off problem with that set, but the next were the same. I had a good look at them and I didn't consider them worth it, but that's just my opinion. I'd have a word with JC of TYtrials, see what he suggests as replacements. Edited October 3, 2012 by goudrons
mattylad
My experience is totally the opposite with TY175 springs. I am a big lad and they are a definate improvement, making the bike feel more modern, when using 7.5W oil. Also I had the same positive experience with TY250 springs.
