galloway840
Hi, Richard here. Long time motorcycle rider and part time road racer. Current bikes are Yamaha RZ350, TZ250 and Aprilia RSV-R. Learned to ride on dirt-bikes way back when, but haven't owned one in years. I'm interested in getting a trials bike, but don't really know where to start. I'm familiar with BETA, Gas Gas, Sherco, etc. What I'd like to know is which are the most reliable, what brand, model and years have best OE and aftermarket parts availability. I'd like to get a used bike in the $2-$3k range. What do you recommend, and where do you recommend I search? Thanks, Richard
zippy
Michigan Ontario Trials Association http://motatrials.com/ We have a "For Sale" section in the forums. We have an event Oct. 13-14 in Vermontville. There will be many bikes there and many people willing to chat and probably let you take them for a spin. Sadly this is the last event for the season. http://www.rypusa.com/ Click "Used Bikes" http://www.Gas Gas.com/index.shtml Click "For Sale" http://tryalsshop.com/ Click "Pre-Owned Bikes" http://www.lewisportusa.com/ Click oh heck you get the idea I am currently Sherco mounted but am looking to go Gas Gas. All the bikes are good but have their own quirks. I have had good results getting parts for my Sherco and have heard parts are easily available for Gas Gas. I suggest getting to an event and riding as many different bikes as you can get on. We have a member of MOTA that is a Gas Gas dealer and a member that is a Beta / Sherco dealer. copemech
Just go get Zippy's old bike. He would probably pay you to come get it! He needs a 300 Gasser like BAD! Still cannot figure why? Guess he wants more shed time working on it!
