kristian1996
hi everyone, just upgraded from a 2005 300 pro to a 2009 300 pro the 2009 300 pro cost me £1500 it needed bits and bobs such as new tyres and the stickers where taty, but for £1500 i am more then happy with it, went for a ride to day and found the clutch was slipping i believe this is down to the gear box oil? when i bought it i tested the clutch and ran it through all the gears and it was fine, i did a oil change using 5w-30 as thats what i was told to use in my old bike and it worked great, but i think its making my new bikes clutch slip as when the bikes warm it slips much more then when i first stared it ( so oils cold ) if its not the oil what could it be ? also what oil would you guys use? any advise would be a great help thanks
spenser
Everyine has their favorite gearbox/clutch oil - Autotrac II, ATF, motor oil - check that there is 2 to 3 mm of free-play in the lever., that will allow the piston in the master cyclinder to fully release the clutch fingers for full engagement. The second thing I would check is the height of the fingers on the clutch assembly. All of the manuals that are provided with the bikes have a description of how to check this measurement, as do various websites; Gas Gas factory, UK USA etc. Hope this helps Spencer

shipdamite
I just had this with my txt pro............ it was not having the right play at the clutch lever. I swapped the atf to the putoline nano trans and its made things alot easier.
