vinceg
Hi all, this is a two part question. The clutch casing has a crack which means the casing leaks transmission fluid the bike is a 2003 but I can only get a casing for a 2011 is there anything I need to change in order to get this cover to work as I believe the O ring setup is different Today I did a training trial and after an hour I went to top up the transmission fluid just to be on the safe side, I had a magnetic filler plug on and when I removed it there were bits of chewed up needle bearing stuck to I'd, I put the bike on the trailer and brought it home, the needle bearings weren't from the release bearing, any suggestions where they came from? How far do I have to go to ensure other bits aren't floating around the gearbox? Cheers Vince
jandyb
Aiai.. There are some needlebearings under the clutch basket, and under the idle sprocket between the clutch and the kick axle. Check them first. But I am afraid that the needles probably are from the nylon bearing on the outgoing shaft in the gearbox. To fix it you need to split the crankcase. You must not start the bike until this is sorted out! I do think the 2011 clutch cover is bolt on. -Jan Edited November 4, 2012 by jandyb
