trialholic
Hi there! I'm look for a front tyre with excellent grip for trailing over rocky, wet terrain. Actually I use Michelin trial competition but I'm not happy with it for trailing, specially when cornering as it loose grip very easy when leaning over hard, rocky trails and over wet rock step downhills...(I'm fed up of kissing the floor ) I think that maybe an enduro front tyre would better suit my needs.. what do you think? Tyres like: Michelin HP4 http://www.michelin.co.uk/motorcycles/michelin-starcross-hp4?fromTyreSelector=true&terrain=rocky&fromTyreSegment=5 Michelin Enduro competition MS http://www.michelin.co.uk/motorcycles/michelin-enduro-competition-ms?fromTyreSelector=true&terrain=rocky&fromTyreSegment=5 Dunlop D908RR http://www.dunlop.eu/dunlop_uk/mc/tyres/off_road/D908RR.jsp?make=-1&model=-1&year=-1&width=90wm&height=90ar&rim=21 Dunlop Geomax MX71 http://www.dunlop.eu/dunlop_uk/mc/tyres/off_road/Geomax_MX71.jsp Would these tyres work fine with low pressure same trials tyres? Sorry guys but I'm quite confused
old trials fanatic
Trials tyres arent meant for that sort of riding you will be better off with any enduro or moto cross tyre. Trials tyres are made to give grip when perpendicular not leant over. As you are not trials riding dont use a trials tyre use one appropriate to the riding you are doing. trialholic
Thanks that's what I was thinking... Does anybody know if a 90/100/21 tyre would fit in my 2.75/21 rim?
lineaway
Are you riding a modern trials bike? Are you trying to ride a trials bike like a motocross bike? If you are talking the 4T the tire will fit just will have to do something with the fender. You will fall less riding it like a trials bike and actually go faster if that is what you are after. trialholic
I have a 2010 Beta EVO 300 4T adapted for enduro riding cause it's the best combination that suits my riding terrain and physical constitution.
rabie
from what we have around here (ie no rocks at all) the local enduro riders don't like any bridgestone enduro tyres, michelin are popular (comp ms front is best seller, comp IV front is new) but pricey, maxxis are good mid price. dunlop haven't really got far with the enduro riders yet but they'v done a lot of work with the geomax range (from what i gather dunlop are very popular state side)
dabmeister10
Have a look here, people seem to rate the Pirelli MT43 for that type of terrain http://www.trf.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=7367&hilit=tyres&sid=2ab8f69b2e5bbb5cebc66955ce2b70d2 You might find some info here but the search engine isn't very good http://www.trailbikemag.com/forum/
